Titanium bar-supported hybrid prostheses are advanced restorations designed for fully edentulous mouths (total edentulism). What Is a Hybrid Prosthesis?

The hybrid prosthesis gets its name from the combination of two structures: a titanium substructure (bar) directly screwed onto the implants, and a superstructure composed of acrylic or composite teeth for aesthetic results. This system is fixed in the patient’s mouth by the dentist but can be easily removed for maintenance when needed.

Digital Production Process

To eliminate errors in titanium bar production, we use a fully digital workflow:

• Digital Scanning & Planning: Implant positions are captured using high-resolution scanners.

• CAD Design: The bar is designed with software to support the aesthetics and cleanability of the prosthesis.

• CAM Milling: The designed bar is milled from certified titanium blocks using 5-axis milling machines.

• Finishing & Characterization: High-strength hybrid materials (acrylic or composite) and aesthetic tooth arrangement are applied to the titanium bar for a natural appearance.

We further enhance precision by using iMetric scanning, capturing implant positions in the mouth with multiple cameras accurately and contact-free. This allows us to finalize the restoration without producing a model, saving time and reducing impression-related errors.
